Analysis of teaching content The central topic of this unit is "Shakespeare and his play
king Lear". Language skills and knowledge are designed around this central topic. The Warming Up part is composed of two sets of questions. The first set of questions center on the topic of "children's respect and love for their parents". It requires students to talk about how to respect and love their parents in line with their own reality and arouse students' attention and deep thinking on this topic. The second group of questions was about the relationship between emperors and officials in ancient China and the mixing of royalty. The students were asked to talk about how emperors treated their children and officials in ancient China. These two questions are closely related to the reading of king Lear. The discussion in the "warm-up" section can help students better understand the relationship between the central task and the development of the plot. The pre-reading
section briefly introduces some basic information about the text (such as the author --William Shakespeare; Title - King Lear; Characteristics - shortened, simplified, modernized and main appearance characters - the main characters, etc.). As Shakespeare's plays are often vivid and tortuous in plot, rich in content and profound in educational significance, teachers can encourage students to make bold predictions about the story content based on "warm-up" discussion, combined with the words prompted by exercises and clues such as text illustrations. Students are allowed to make up content completely different from the text, as long as the plot is reasonable and has practical significance, they should give affirmation. Students also enjoy learning as they make up stories and tell stories. The Reading and comprehending part
is taken from king Lear, one of Shakespeare's four tragedies. The play was first performed in 1606. King Lear, who ruled England, wanted to divide his land between his three daughters. He tested the filial piety of his three daughters, and the eldest and the youngest, with all their flattery, won Lear's trust and half his territory. And the youngest outspoken anger father, get nothing, fortunately the French king married her. Lear was shunned and abandoned by his two daughters, who even conspired to get rid of him. Thanks to his loyal servants, Lear survived. Later, the younger daughter took command of the troops as her father. By this time there was a conflict between the other two daughters, who were trying to get rid of each other, but who, facing the French, united again. The British win the war, two daughters imprisoned Lear and his younger daughter, but has been brought to the court and the whole discontent. Result Lear's little daughter was killed, the two eldest daughters did not get a good end, finally Lear hugged the body of the little daughter crying, his own sad death. The "reading" section takes place in the first act of the play, and the dialogue between Lear and his daughter is one of Shakespeare's most famous passages. II. Teaching aims:
