Lesson9 When Is It?

一、教材分析：

本课是冀教版小学英语四年级下册第九课。在本课中主要学习有关节日的英文词汇以及通过When is...? It’s ____/ It’s in ______这个句型学习如何询问节日时间。本课中的几个节日都是学生熟悉和喜爱的，所以本课授课难易程度适中,在教学中教师应该帮助学生运用所学的语言进行交流，达到能灵活运用。

二、学情分析：

四年级的学生已经学过一年的英语，具备一定的英语学习能力，在此基础上让学生理解本课中六个节日英语表达法，及句型When is ti ? It’s ____/ It’s in ______的对话。学生对日期的表达可能会有一些困难，通过本课的学习力求使学生积极的回答问题,会用英语表达日期。

三、教学目标：

知识目标

1、学生能够理解掌握六个节日： New Year’s Day , the Spring Festival , International Workers’ Day , Children’s Day , Teachers’ Day ,National Day 。

能够使用序数词正确的说出节日日期。

能够正确地运用句型When is ... ? It’s ____/ It’s in ______。

能力目标：

能够运用所学句型进行口语交际，激发学生的学习兴趣，培养学生英语学习能力。

情感目标：

让学生在自主，合作，探究的过程中学习感受英语，激发学习兴趣。

学习策略目标：

通过本课的学习帮助学生运用所学句型进行表达和交流。

文化意识目标：

帮助学生了解更多的中国传统节日，培养爱国主义情怀。

四、教学重难点：

重点：

学生能够听懂、会说六个节日名称，以及运用句型When is ... ? It’s ____/ It’s in ______。

难点：

能够运用所学内容进行日常交流。

五、教学过程：

Step1、 Warm-up and review T:Good morning , everyone .How are you ? Now let’s sing a song 《Twelve Months》

T：Great！Are you happy ? Do you remember how many months are there in a year ?/ Which is the first month /second month ?

设计意图：热身复习调动学生的学习兴趣，师生自由对话复习上节课所学的月份和序数词。

Step2、 New Concept T : Look ,you know there are many festivals in China .(课件出示festivals并领读festivals) And today let’s learn some festivals and when is it? 1、学习New Year’s Day T:look, what festival is this ? (出示元旦课件）

S1: New Year’s Day . T: Good. It’s New Year’s Day .(领读New Year’s Day,不同形式让学生朗读 ) T：When is New Year’s Day ? Now listen carefully.播放录音,学生仔细听，思考问题。

S2：一月一日/January the first is New Year’s Day . T: Great！（领读January the first .）

2、学习the Spring Festival T: Now let’s look (课件播放春节)What festival is this ? 学习the Spring Festival 并不同方式朗读。

T：When is the Spring Festival ? 播放录音,学生仔细听。

S4: It’s in January or February . T : The Spring Festival is in January or February .(课件出示日期并领读)

3、学习International Workers’ Day T: What festival is this ? （课件出示劳动节图）

学习单词International Workers’ Day ,讲解单词，多种形式学生跟读。

T：When is International Workers’ Day ? 播放录音,学生仔细听。

S5：五月一日/May the first . 4、学习Children’s Day T：What festival is this ?出示课件，学习Children’s Day T: When is Children’s Day ?播放录音,学生仔细听. Ss: It’s June the first . 5、学习Teachers’ Day T: Now another festival ,I like it very much.let’s have a look .出示教师节图片,学习单词Teachers’ Day 。

T: When is Teachers’ Day ?播放录音。

Ss: It’s September the tenth . 领读September the tenth . 6、学习National Day T: What festival is this ?出示课件，

学习National Day T: When is National Day ?播放录音,学生仔细听. 引出日期October the first , 不同形式提问学生。

设计意图：本环节中我合理的利用ppt教学资源和教学技术，通过各

种节日图片，音乐等多种教学方式引入新知，让学生看图片猜一猜是什么节日，并通过听录音来学习节日的日期，丰富教学内容和教学形式。

Step3、 Listen and repeat Play the text and ask the students to read after it . 设计意图 :播放课文，让学生在听读原文的过程中，感知和模仿英语发音的特点，巩固所学节日和日期的表达。

Step4、 Practice Play a game“What’s Missing?”课件出示各种节日名称，让学生快速记忆，然后open their eyes迅速地说出缺少的单词。

设计意图：设计有趣的游戏不仅训练学生的快速记忆，同时也复习巩固了今天所学的内容。

Step5、 Consolidation 教师出示一张备忘录并介绍Look, this is Teachers’ Day . It’s June the first 。拿出另一张生日备忘录：My birthday is November the fourth 。让学生拿出自己制作的备忘录，talk in pairs 运用句型When is ... it’s ...练习问答。

设计意图: make and say 这一环节让学生自己动手制作备忘录，通过小组合作学习理解操练语言知识，使他们乐于参与，并能灵活运用when is .. It’s ...进行交流。

Step5、 Extension T: Now children, there are many more important festivals in China. Let’s have a look .播放其他重要的节日，使学生了解更过的中国传统节日，培养学生的爱国情怀。

Step6、 Homework 1、Read Lesson9 three times aloud. 大声朗读第九课三遍。 2、 Draw a picture about your favourite festival. 画一张你最喜爱的节日手抄报。
