2. 语法要点归纳：

1) What 作为疑问词看作是单数，所以动词make使用了第三人称单数形式。

2) Smoke 和rubbish都是不可数名词。一般现在时的肯定句中，主语是不可数名词，谓语动词也用第三人称单数形式。

3) Make和keep的不同用法：

Make 的意思有很多，做，制作，制造，整理，获得等，在本单元中的意思是“使……变得”，make+sth/ sb+形容词

。如：

Smoke from cars makes the air dirty. 汽车排出来的烟使空气变得肮脏。

Rubbish makes the streets messy and dirty. 垃圾使街道杂乱无章。

Keep的意思是保持，经营，饲养，遵守等，本单元中的意思是“保持”。

例如：We can put rubbish in the bin to keep our city clean. 我们把垃圾放进垃圾桶能让我们的城市保持干净。

1.Smoke from cars makes the air dirty. a. make 在这里指使...变得... 结构：make+名词+形容词

b. 此句中的主语是smoke from cars 来自汽车的烟，是第三人称单数，所以动词make用三单makes。

2.What can we do to keep our city clean？

a. keep指保持... 结构：（1）keep + 形容词 keep quiet 保持安静；（2）keep+名词+形容词。

b. 此句中的to表示目的,为了。

动词不定式：to+动词原形

3.Is the city clean？ No，it isn’t. 此句中clean是一个形容词，所以用be动词来提问。

4.like + 动词ing I like living (live) in the city. 5.Pick...up把...捡起来 Pick up the banana skin. = Pick the banana skin up.

但是碰到宾格，只能放在中间。（宾客坐中间）Pick it up. / Pick them up.

相同用法的词组还有put on 等。
