教学目标：

1.能听懂、会说和会拼写有关节日的单词：Easter , Halloween , Thanksgiving , Christmas , turkey 2.能听懂、会说、会读节日的传统事物和活动。

3.能正确的理解和朗读课文，在教师的引导和帮助下介绍西方节日。

4. 培养学生从文章中获取主要信息，并进行分析、推理和判断的能力。

教学过程：

Step1: Warming up 1.Greetings. 2.Sing a song.

《We wish you a merry Christmas》

Step2: Lead-in 1.T: What festival do you think of when hearing the song? Is it a Chinese festival? Do you know any other western festivals?(学生自由回答，说说自己知道的西方节日。) 2. T：Ok .Today, we’ll talk about “Western Festivals”. we will learn four festivals. Do you have any questions?(学生自由提问) 3. Great. Today we will read a article about these four festivals. We’ll learn when these festivals are, and what do people do at these festivals? Step3: Presentation 1.T：Now, listen and match 2.Pre-reading Ask the students to read the texts quickly and fill the table. 3.While-reading Ask the students to read the texts in groups. Then answer the questions. Step4:Consolidation and practice 1. Play a game.

2.Post-reading Work in groups and choose a festival to describe. Then give a report.(小组合作，根据自己收集的资料，选择一个最喜欢的节日进行阐述，并展示。) 3.Read and judge. Step5:Summary 1.
