7BUnit7 Abilities Welcome to the unit & comic strip Teaching aims: 1.To learn some new words. 2.To revise vocabulary about helping people. 3.To generate ideas about ways to care for and help others. 4.To educate the students to be polite and helpful to others. Teaching difficulties: 1.How to stimulate the students how to care about others and help. 2.Talk about what people can do. Teaching steps: Step1：Lead in 1.Watch a short video ,and let the students tell us what’s it about. What’s the video about ? It’s about the cow’s ... ... 2.Show the title of the class. T:Today we’ll learn Unit7 Abilities Comic strip&Welcome to the unit. Step2: Free talk T: First,let’s have a free talk to talk about abilities. Show the pictures one by one,and use different sentences to talk about their abilities. Step 3:Comic strip

T: Different people have different abilities. Look at the pictures on the screen, and tell me what each person can do.(Spiderman 、Captain America、Superman) 1.According to the picture of superman and ask: Is there superdog in the world ? Then show a picture of superdog ,and ask: Do you believe that he is superdog ? I don’t believe he is superdog or he can fly. 2.Show a picture of Eddie and say :But Eddie thinks he is superdog and he can fly. 3.Watch and answer questions: (1). What does Eddie think he can do? (2). Can he really fly? 4.Read the dialogue after the tape,and pay attention to their tone. 5.Read in pairs and act it out. Ask some pairs to act out the dialogue in the front of the classroom. Step4:Welcome to the unit: 1.Show three pictures and say : We know they have different abilities,but they use their different abilities to save the world and help people in need.What about you ?What ability do you have ?Now please show your ability to us.Here I show you some pictures to help you . T:What can you do?/What ability do you have?/What about you ?

Then say: Abilities can help our dream come true!We can also use our abilities to help others!A helping hand can change the world!If ou want to help others,I think you can join the Helping Hands Club! 2.T:Daniel and his classmates are members of the Helping hands Club.They are helping people now.let’s look at the pictures and tell me what they are doing. 3.Do Part A on Page 81,then check the answers. T:They use their abilities to help people,so can we.We live a happy life,but the children in poor areas don’t.Let’s see some pictures of them. 4.T：Now the members at the Helping Hands Club are talking about what they can do to help the children in poor areas. Listen to their dialogue and answer questions: (1). Who can the club members help? (2). What do the children need most? (3). What can the club members do? 5.Read the dialogue. Step5:Group work Have a discussion in groups of 4 students,then ask them to express their ideas. T:Please work in groups of 4,and choose one from the table to talk about how to help them. Step6 Writing

According to the result of your discussion ,please write a letter of appeal(倡议书)，and then make a report. Step7.Summary T:What have you learned in this lesson? Please help people in need as much as possible, if you help others, you will feel very happy.
