1.教学目标

Knowledge aims: (1)key words: rainstorm, alarm, suddenly, heavily,strange. (2)Key phrases:at the time of, on the street, at the bus stop, miss the bus, wait for, go off. (3)Key structures: What were you doing when the rainstorm came? What was the girl doing at the time of the rainstorm? I was waiting for the bus when it began to rain heavily. Skill aims: (1)Be able to understand and use the past progressive tense to talk about the past things. (2)Be able to read and understand the sentences on the book. Emotional aims: Lead students to learn something useful from the past experiences. 2..教学重难点

教学过程

Step1 warm-up and lead-in To lead in the new lesson by asking two questions T1: What are you doing now？

T2：What were you doing when I came in ? Step2 Presentation and practice(新课呈现和练习) (1)Lead students to look at the pictures and make conversations by using “was/were doing”. (2)Ask students to make dialogues by using the pictures and structures on the screen. (3)Make a short summary about the past progressive tense. (4)Listen to 1b and circle the phrases. (5)Listen again and fill in the blanks. (6)Listen to 2a and number the pictures. Before listening,ask students to guess what the pictures are about. (7)Listen to 2b and fill in the blanks. (8)Read the listening material to check the answers. Step3 Consolidation (巩固) Do some exercises to review what we’ve learned this class. Step4 Summary

(总结) To review what we’ve learned this class and read books. Step5 Homework
