Ideas For Design：

It is a phonetic review lesson, focusing on reviewing the pronunciation rules of open syllables a,e,i,o,u and differences with their pronunciation rules in closed syllables. Thus, the teachers firstly ask students to review the words already learnt which contain syllable a,e,i,o,u and chant. Then, the pronunciation rules are summarized and some words which students haven’t learnt in the picture books are listed. Through separating or combining syllables, teachers review phonics strategies for students and improve their phonics skills so that students could sense the pronunciation, shape and meaning of words in reading and enjoy the beauty of phonetics and language.

Teaching Aims：

1. Students can compare short and long vowels. 2.Students can pronounce and spell the words according to the pronunciation rules of a,e,i,o,u,a-e, -e, i-e, o-e and u-e correctly. 3.Students can follow the chant and find out words meeting with the pronunciation rules of short and long vowels a,e,i,o,u. 4.Students can read the story which contain words with a,e,i,o,u,a-e, -e, i-e, o-e and u-e correctly and act it out. 5.Students can sense the beauty of phonics and love English from diversified pronunciation teaching and training activities.
