Colours(Let’s learn A)
I.
Teaching objectives
1. Knowledge objectives: by the end of the lesson, my students should be able to listen, say, and know the meaning of the new words and sentence pattern. 2. Language ability objectives: by the end of the lesson, my students should be able to know the information about the traffic light. II. Key and difficulties points Key points: Be able to listen, say, and know the meaning of the new words(red yellow blue green) and sentence pattern(what color do you see? I see..). Difficult points: Be able to use the words and sentence pattern in the real situation. III. Analysis of students The students are in Grade 3 of primary school.They have a strong curiosity about new things and strong performance desire. Therefore, teacher should try to mainly stimulate their learning interests and active learning atmosphere in some lively activities. Ⅴ. Analysis of textbook
The text I choose is Unit 2 of primary 3 English textbook (1st Edition) published by People Education Press. The topic of the unit is Color. The unit is to learn words and sentence pattern of color. The topic is related to students’ daily life, most of students will have strong interests. Therefore, teacher should try to create interesting and active learning atmosphere, taking positive evaluation method and forming active and effective teaching in class.

Teaching procedure 1. Warm-up (5minutes) ①
Sing a song together(I can sing a rainbow) ②
Guide the students to review
Guide the students to introduce classmates with”
this is…”according to the picture they have drawed.
Purpose of my design: the chant is a kind of TPR. It can arouse the students’
spirits and create a relaxing and pleasant atmosphere in the classroom. Revision helps students to consolidate what they have learned in last class. 2. Presentation (13minutes) I will present in this way at this part.
①At this part I will connect the words with their daily life. All the new words and phrases are presented in this way. ②Present sentence pattern with flash of rainbow.(what color do you see? I see red…) Purpose of my design: I mainly use the Direct Method
here. It’s a good way for the students to practice listening and speaking and promote the interaction between the students
and the teacher.
3. Consolidation (20minutes) ①
Show and say Show the crayon of the responding color and say the words. ②
Sing and act
Sing the song—who is wearing yellow today? And then they should do the action( who is blue today, the students point the classmates who wearing blue clothes) ③
Missing Miss the picture of colors. (What color do you see? I see…). ④ Traffic lights
Say color of traffic lights in sentence pattern, and guide them to know some knowledge about traffic rules.
Purpose of my design:
I mainly use the Task -based
Language Teaching Method to let my students practice in a variety of activities. Every student can get a chance to speak in this part and they can develop their ability of cooperation. And I can check whether they can say, speak and understand the new words and sentence pattern
4. Homework (2minutes)
Finish a table and invite some students sharing in next class. Purpose of my design:
It can help them recall what they have learned and the teacher can check whether they have mastered new knoeledge. Ⅴ. Board design New words and new sentence pattern. VI. Reflection
There are some advantages in my lesson plan.
I try to make the teaching contents close to their daily life with the vivid pictures, so that the students can be impressed, and can understand and accept the knowledge easily. And I pay attention to the student-centered teaching because I give time back to the students to practice in a variety of activities. However, there are also some parts need us to pay attention to. Firstly, the classroom management, we teacher should control the whole
class properly to prevent the students from getting over-excited in the activities. Secondly, some students may speak Chinese in the interviewing part so we teacher should go around to supervise to make sure that the students speak in English.
