Teaching aims Knowledge aims:

①Learn the structure of the Present Perfect Continuous Tense; ②Learn the differences between the Present Perfect Continuous Tense and the Present Perfect Tense; Ability aims: Students can use the proper tense to communicate with classmates in English. Teaching procedures: 

Step 1: lead-in Enjoy a short video from Kungfu Panda

Purpose: Enjoy the beauty of the English, which will also attract their attention to the class. In the meantime, lead in the topic of the class.



Step 2: Presentation

Read the three groups of sentences and compare their differences. ①He has been writing a novel, which will be finished next month. ②He has written a novel, which is being prepared to come out now.

③I have been visiting my hometown recently, and it impresses me differently each time. ④I have visited my hometown recently, whose changes have left a deep impression on me. ⑤Recently she has always been helping me. ⑥Recently she has helped me a lot.

Self-study: (1)

由①③⑤看出现在完成进行时的构成形式为__________________________________ (2)

Continuous Tense Model Verbs: be, have, exist Emotional Verbs：like, love, hate Verbs of perception：see, hear, know, feel, sound Momentary Verbs：finish, marry, get up, come, go…

Purpose: To develop students’ ability of self-study. There are many pictures here in order to create real situations in which students will comprehend better. 

Step 3 Practice Play a game. Choose a magic box and there is a question with certain points. Let’s have a look which team will get higher points. Purpose: To learn English in a match which will arose student’s interest. 

Step 4 Consolidation Make an interview. If you are a reporter, what would you ask about your idols. Please use the Present Perfect Continuous Tense as much as possible. Purpose: To consolidate what they have learned and review other tenses.



Step 5 Review Review what we have learned this class by a song Date back into love. First, enjoy the song and pay attention to the words in red. Second, listen to the song again and fill in the blanks with the right choice, At last, listen again, check answers and sing it together.



Step 6 Homework Write a small composition about your own life, including one or two sentences using the Present Perfect Continuous Tense.
