T: Garfield likes travelling too. He went to many countries. This summer holiday(PPT) he came to China. But we know there are many beautiful cities in China, such as …(PPT) Where did he go for the summer holiday? (PPT) Let’s ask Garfield!

T: Where did Garfield go for the summer holiday? Ss: He went to Beijing. (PPT) 4. T: Garfield had lots of fun in Beijing. He took many photos. Look at the photos please. (PPT) What did Garfield do in Beijing? T&Ss: He climbed up the Great Wall(长城). He visited the Palace Museum(故宫). He ate lots of nice food too. Teach: eat--- ate T: Oh, Garfield’s summer holiday is great fun.

But is Garfield in Beijing now? Ss: No. T: Oh, Garfield went back to the US. (PPT) Let’s say goodbye to him.

Ss: Goodbye, Garfield! Step 2. Presentation 1.

T: What a pity! Our new friend is not here with us. But fortunately, some of our old friends, the students, came back to school. (PPT) Look! Who are they? Ss: Mike and Liu Tao. (在黑板上贴人物头像) T: They are talking now. What are they talking about? Let me listen to them. (作倾听状) Ah, they’re talking about “Holiday fun”(假日趣事). 揭示课题，领读。

2. T: Boys and girls, do you want to listen to them too? Ss: Yes! T: OK, you can listen to them. But while listening, you must think of the two questions:

What holiday did they talk about? How was their holiday? (PPT) Ss: Listen and choose. Teach “National Day”, “the National Day holiday” and “great fun” while checking. (PPT) 3.

should find out the answers to these two questions:

Where did they go?

Ss: Watch and match.

Do Bb writing( Shanghai& a farm) and teach “the Bund” “the Shanghai Museum” and enjoy some beautiful pictures of them while checking. (PPT) 4.

T: Good job, children! You can match the pictures correctly. But can you describe these pictures? Let’s read the text carefully and find out some key sentenses. Underline the key sentenses and pay more attention to the verbs in past tense forms. (PPT) Ss: Read and try to describe. Do Bb writing and teach some new words while checking.
