Hello, boys and girls, let’s know each other first. You can call me Ms. Xu.

Do you know the months of the year? What are they?

Let’s play a game. Look at the words for 10 seconds. Then try to find which word is missing.

What’s your favourite month? When is your birthday? When is Li Ming’s birthday, do you know?Li Ming’s birthday is in October. It’s cool. Now Li Ming is having a race.

多媒体出示比赛图片. What does race mean?解释race，领读几遍。

Look, how many pupils are there in the race? Who is the first?

1. _____ is the first. 出示卡片领读，并板书。指一行同学读。分音素读。领读句子，指一行学生读，强调the，用红笔标出。

Who is the second? ____ is the second. 出示卡片领读，并板书。指一行同学读。分音素读。领读句子，指一行学生读. 3. ___ is the third. 出示卡片领读，并板书。指一行同学读。分音素读。领读句子，指一行学生读.红笔标出介词in. 4. ___ is the fourth. 出示卡片领读，并板书。指一行同学读。分音素读。领读句子，指一行学生读，指出th的发音，We call these ordinal numbers.板书序数词。说明从fourth开始，绝大多数的序数词都以th结尾（个位是123的除外）。From the beginning of fourth, most of the ordinal numbers ending in th.领读fourth-twelfth。重点fifth和eighth。

5. 对比基数词让学生找出字形上的区别。These are ordinal numbers. These are cardinal numbers. Compare the two kinds of numbers. Can you find some regularities? Like this: four 加上th变成fourth. 朗读儿歌。We have a chant about it. Let’s read.多媒体出示序数词的缩写形式。Here we get the short forms of the ordinal numbers. 用阿拉伯数字（Arabica numerals）加上序数词结尾两个字母。

7练习:学生按顺序说序数词1-12，说完后教师用卡片随机出示其中一个，说到该序数词的学生马上站起来说：I’m the ______. Let’s say the ordinal numbers in order. Who is the _____? 8 基数词，序数词对比练习。We use ordinal numbers and cardinal numbers in different ways. Look at these exercises.

9 听录音句子部分，指导朗读，展示1-2人。跟读单词,can you guess the meaning of together and them?

10 小组合作，四人一组从盒子里抽月份卡片，然后说句子January is the first.教师从盒子里抽卡片，学生说句子展示。
