Step One: Warming up （2mins）

I. Song - Yes, I can.

T plays the song before, have Ss enjoy and try to sing with it.

II. Greeting

T: Good morning/ afternoon, children.

Ss: Good morning/ afternoon, Vicky.

T: How are you?

Ss: I’m fine thanks.

Step Two: Presentation and practice

I. Draw and guess （5mins）

T: Before class, we’ve enjoyed a beautiful song. Do you remember what animals are in the song? Ss: little bird, elephant, little fish, gorilla, buffalo. T: Good memory. Look at the bird, it’s small. And it can fly.

Can you say something about other animals? Have Ss talk freely. T: Great, and what can you do? Ss: I can... T: You can do so many things, and I can draw. Look, I’ll draw for you... T: It has a big face. (引导生完成描述) Ss: It has small eyes ... Ss: It’s a lion. T: Good guess. It’s a lion. It has a big body... (带领生对lion进行描述，同时师完成lion的板书简笔画) T: Look, it’s a lion. A big lion, right. Stick the tile of the story, have Ss read after T. 【设计意图：有绘图和猜谜的形式进入课堂，有趣味性，起到很好的热身作用。同时也交代了故事的背景。】

II. Presentation and practice （18mins）

Look and learn

T: The lion and the mouse. Yes, today I’ll show you a story”The lion and the mouse.”

Have Ss read the title.

T: Look, the lion was sleeping, it was so comfortable. Now, look, it became so angry, what happened? Let’s listen to the story. T: Look. What is the mouse doing? Ss: playing.

Playing --板书教读

T: Yes, the mouse woke him up. The lion opened his eyes. He wanted to sleep, but the mouse was so noisy. So the lion was so angry. He opened his eyes.生跟读(跟进板书贴-生气的表情)

Look and say

T: The lion was so angry, what will he do?

Ss: eat the mouse ... (生自由发挥)

T: Maybe the lion will eat the mouse, he was so angry. Now, read the story on pg.1 by yourselves, then tell me what happened next.

Have Ss read the story by themselves quietly.

T: What happened, what will the lion do?

T: Wow, so angry. What did the mouse feel?

Ss: Scary.

T: Yes, the mouse felt so scary.

Ss: Let mo go. I’m so small.

T: Great. So did the lion eat the mouse?

Ss: No.

T: Take out your story book, read from pg.1-2, read quietly and then tell me, what will the angry lion do?

T: Look, the lion let the mouse go!

Because the lion was very very sleepy. So he said

“Go away. Let me sleep.”

T: The lion let the mouse go. The mouse was happy and thankful.

T: The mouse was very thankful. I will help you one day.

③Think and say

T: One day, the lion was walking around. But suddenly, oh no, he was in a net. How did the lion feel?

Ss: Angry.

T: Yes, angry. Let me out.

T: But, he was still in the net. He became scary. Who can help me?

The elephant is so big, maybe he can save me.

The horse can run fast, maybe he can save me.

The bird can fly, maybe he will save me.

......

T: They all so helpful, so at last who saved the lion? Let’s enjoy the story, and look, who saved the lion.

PPT plays the story.

T: So who saved the lion.

Ss: The mouse.

T: The mouse saved the lion, but he was so small, how can he save the lion?

Ss: The mouse bit the net.

T: Though the lion was small, he can bite. He bit the net, so he saved the lion. The mouse so helpful.

Step Three: Read and act. （7mins）

Read and retell the story

T: Now, look at the blackboard, let’s try to retell the story together.

师带领生一起回顾故事内容，并完整表达。

老鼠和狮子对话的部分，可以进行个别演绎

【设计意图：在板书中思维导图的帮助下，师生一起回顾并复述故事内容。培养学生记忆与转换能力】

②Share the story

T: Is it a good story? Now, share the story with your partners.

Have Ss work in 2, try to tell the story with help with each other Step Four: Emotion Education （3mins）

T: The lion let the mouse go, and the mouse saved the lion. So they became good friends.

Now, read the story by yourselves. Then think about”What does this story tell

us?”

Ss read the story by themselves.
