Step1: Warming up A.

Greeting. Hello, boys and girls. How are you? Today we’re going to learn《unit 2 They were young》.before we start our lesson, let’s have a chant. B.

Tall, tall, I am tall. Short short, she is short.

B. Learn the new words.:was, wasn’t, were, weren’t.由It wasn’t beautiful引出否定词：was(is,am的过去式)，否定was not = wasn’t.

a. Look at the flash, listen and say the sentences.第一遍看Flash动画，初步感知大意；第二遍听录音，感受语音语调；第三遍读课文，体会语义。

Picture 1:They are old. They weren’t old then. They were young.

Picture 2: She is tall. She wasn’t tall then. She was short.

Picture 3: It is clean. It wasn’t clean then. It was dirty.

根据图片逐一分析句子: 三幅图句一分别先肯定现在的状态，句二否定现在的状态，句三肯定过去的状态。通过图片中分别使用到的are, is, is到weren’t, wasn’t, wasn’t再到were, was, was的转变理解句子用法。

3.Step 3: Make sentences. 出示几张图片，按照活动2句型模仿造句。
