设计意图：利用有韵律感的Chant，既复习了与本课相关的旧知识，为学习新课做铺垫，又活跃了课堂气氛，调动了学生的学习积极性。

Step2: Presentation.

探究（一）：How to ask the personal past features and answer them.

1.Ask students to discuss: What were you look like in the past?

2.Show students’ answers and do some speaking by pictures.

(1)Show the photo of Yao Ming, ask students to talk about him like this:

Was he short/tall? Yes, he was. / No, he wasn’t.

(2)Show the photo of woman, ask students to talk about her like this:

Was she fat/thin? Yes, she was. /No, she wasn’t.

(3)Show the photo of the ugly duck, talk about it.

Lead in new lesson in this way: Was it beautiful ? Can you guess which city it is?

Ask students to guess it , the teacher show the information about this picture.

Such as: It is a big city.It is called the window of the world. It is very famous city. It has the highest building in Asia. Do you know it? 设计意图:结合照片对比、句子讲解,为了让学生对描述“过去与现在”有一

个清晰的认识. 教学中学生个体活动、小组活动、全班活动交替进行，指导学生通

过细心观察、积极参与、合作交流等方法学会、掌握并运用知识。通过对一所城市的

猜测，和有趣的卡通对话，抛给学生城市背景资料，自然引出课题。

Step3: Learning the text. 1.

According to the picture of the city, show the title on the blackboard. Ask students to watch the cartoon and answer the question.

Show :Was it a big city then ? How was it then? It was a small village then.

Learn the new word in the sentences. “village”, using the word in the different phrases. Such as: a big village, a small village, a famous village, a beautiful village and so on. 设计意图:在新单词的教学中做到了“词不离句”，在语境中呈现，引导学生在语境中运用，而不是机械孤立地重复单词。另外对单词‘village’还做了结构上的分析，帮助学生形成有效的单词记忆策略，同时利用了多媒体的强大功能完整地展现句子It was a small village then.弥补了板书中的不足。

(1) Play the video about Shenzhen. Ask students to go on to complete the “Time Line”. Read the text by groups. (2) Retell the text by “Time Line” and expand the text.

Such as: This is Shenzhen. It was …then, but now it is …. 设计意图：让学生先带着问题听课文对整篇文章有一个大体了解，听录音跟读，通过回答问题让学生对课文内容及本节课的重点知识得到了较好的掌握，然后在小组内分角色扮演培养学生的阅读及交际能力，让学生更进一步掌握和熟悉城市今昔对比的形式和用法。

利用时间轴,让学生进行思维拓展.并进一步培养学生语言逻辑思维能力和与他人合作的能力.

探究（三）：How to introduce the city then and the city now?

Ask the ss to work in groups and show the answers on the paper.

Show the following short passage about Shenzheng, ask ss to share listening and reading.

Text:

Shenzhen became a big modern city. There are lots of people. There are many cars,buses,taxis and so on. It is very beautiful and famous.I love it very much.

Step 3: Practice .(运用拓展)

1. Ask the students to discuss our hometown.

The teacher shows the video of Wuzhong, ask them to feel the developing hometown.

The teacher give some advice for students.

Ask them to complete the short passage about Wuzhong. Such as: This is my hometown, Wuzhong. It was a small town. But now it is a new city. I love this city.She’s small and quiet.Every day I live here,

I love this city.She is very beautiful and lovely.Everywhere you can see the flowers,grass and trees.The climate here is very warm . I love it very much.

2. Design their favorite poster about our hometown. Such as:

Show works in class. 3. The sublimation of love for the motherland. Play the video about the different cities. Ask students to feel the changing and developing China.

设计意图：把课堂的知识延伸到课外，真正达到学以致用的目的。通过对深圳的今昔对比,拓展到家乡吴忠的今昔对比,培养学生热爱家乡的情怀.由家乡过渡到祖国的各地今昔变化，培养学生对祖国的认同和浓浓的热爱情怀。

Step 4: Summary. 1.

Language structures summary. What have you learned today? Can you share it with us? Look at the blackboard-writing.

The emotional attitude. Show some pictures , share with students ,and feel ,think, see together. Show the video of the city, share with students. Love our hometown! Love our homeland!! Share three sentences in class: Life is full of changes!
