(Reading2) Analysis on teaching materials:

Reading(page58-page60) is a story named “The ghost in the park”. After learning, the students can retell the story in order and learn the way to write a narration. This passage includes some important phrases, like “as usual”, “turn around”, “on one’s way to sp” and so on. After learning, the students can learn how to use these phrases. Besides, the important grammar in this unit is the simple past tense, so the students need to grasp the simple past forms of some verbs. Analysis on students:

The students have already learnt much about this passage, including the main idea, the development of the story, the four elements in the story. But in this lesson they need some further study to better understand the passage. They also need to grasp some important language points. Besides, they need some practice to consolidate.

The teacher leaded the students to conclude the important phrases and they practiced them through the dialogue between the teacher and the students. They also have some tasks for the students to better understand the passage and at the same time to practice the language points. The tasks are good and interesting. During the class, the students could also retell some of the passage. At last, the students could use what they have learnt to solve some problems.
