Teaching procedure :
Step1. Warm-up
a.Greetings:
T: Hello , boys and girls! S s: Hello, Miss Li! T: How are you ?S s: Fine, thank you!
b.Sing a song:What do you do?
c.Free talk:
There are all kinds of occupations in our life, such as: teacher, student, worker, doctor......and so on. We had learned some of them.Today we will learn more together,also we will learn how to ask about Sb’s job.
Step 2. Presentation
1.Show some pictures about jobs learned ago: farmer,policeman,student, then show the pictures about another occupation word cards and ask students to read these words at first, then use games practice them .(1)Clap hands (2)Grow taller (3)Opposite tune. 2.Play a game.
Divide students into groups.Teacher says Chinese quickly,students say English.The one who reflect fastest and correctly is the winner.
3. Teacher leads in new sentences:
Ask a student to stand up, the teacher asks the student : What are you doing? ,the student answers:I am learning.teacher says: you are learning, What do you do?(你是做什么的?) ,lead the student to say :I am a student.
Based on the professional terms we have learned just now let students to say the sentence pattern:I am ...When you want to know Sb’s job., you can ask : What do you do?”Then write down the sentence, then ask students to read aloud to follow the teacher, finally clap hands to practice the sentence.
E.g: T: What do you do ?
S:I am a teacher/doctor/worker/postman......
4.Lead in another sentences:
Teacher firstly says I am a teacher, I work in school. Who can tell me the meaning of the sentences? When you want to know Sb’s workplace, you should ask : Where do you work ? Answer: I work in...
E.g: What do you do? I am a worker/teacher... Where do you work? I work in a factory/in a school.... 5.Listen to the tape of Let’s learn and follow it. Pay attention to the tape and pronunciation.
Step3.Practise:
Show the courseware of Let’s learn, ask students to make a dialogue according to the pictures.
Step 4. Translate sentences.
Step 5. Summary.
