Grammar Teaching aims:

1 Ask students to enjoy some pictures and imagine what they like doing in summer,thus leading to the topic of verbs followed by -ing.

2 Review some verbs followed by -ing in the text book and fill in blanks to summaries these verbs. Step2 Self-exploration

(In this procedure,students learn in groups and individually. They may get one points if they answer a question correctly)

1 Ask students to present some words followed by -ing. Then give them some examples and tell them an easier way to remember all of these verbs.

2 Ask students to present some phrases followed by -ing. Then give them some examples and tell them an easier way to remember all of these phrases.

“忍不住想要放弃,习惯盼望与坚持”

3 Ask students to present some verbs and phrases followed by both “-ing” and “to do” . Then give them some examples and tell them to remember them all. “Remember,forget,stop,try,mean,regret,like,start/begin,want/need/require”

4 Make a summary. Summarize the verbs followed by -ing by

2 Make sentences

Ask students to enjoy a picture and then make some sentences using “can`t help /look forward to/regret/ say goodbye”

Eg: He can`t help crying because his daughter has left./ They look after to see each other 4 moths later./ He regret to say goodbye to his daughter.

3 Writing

Students enjoy a speech given by Han Xue in which she told of her efforts in learning English and what she had achieved after learning and practising.Then Make up a dialogue : Han Xue is giving advice to you on English learning,Using at least 3 words or phrases followed by -ing. Step4 Homework

write a letter to your friend,giving him/her sugestions on learning English.Then share your writing with your group member .
