Lesson Aims

Midge: Hello, I'm Midge. I'm from USA. My favourite food is hamburger. But I know Chinese food is very yummy. Today I'm very happy to come to China. I will stay in my friend Alice's home for about a week. Now I'm here.

Material 2：

Midge: Hello, Alice. Nice to meet you. Alice: Nice to meet you too, Midge. Come in, please. Mrs Wang: Hello, Midge. You must be hungry. Let's have breakfast. Midge: Wow, Chinese food! Great! What are you having, Alice? Alice: Oh, I'm eating Youtiao and drinking soybean milk. Midge: Soybean milk tastes great! What are you eating, Mrs Wang? Mrs Wang: I'm eating porridge. I can cook many kinds of porridge. Midge: You're super, Mrs Wang. Let me taste the porridge. It's yummy. Alice: What do you have for breakfast every morning in USA, Midge? Midge: In USA, I have sandwiches, hot dogs, hamburgers and some juice or milk.

Alice: Yes, but you like Chinese food. Let’s go to a restaurant. There is much nice food.

Midge: It's a good idea! Waitress: Can I help you? Midge: I want some chicken, fish and pork. Alice: Don’t eat too much meat, Midge! We should have some vegetables.

Mrs Wang: It's time for dinner. Let's look in our fridge. What's in the fridge? What do you want for dinner? Alice: I want some dumplings. Midge: What’s a dumpling?

Mrs Wang: It’s our traditional Chinese food.

Midge: Wonderful, thank you! Mrs Wang: You’re welcome.

Material 5：

It was a fine day. I came to my friend Alice's home.

They had nice breakfast. Alice ate Youtiao and drank soybean milk. Her mother ate porridge. I tasted them. They were nice. At noon, we went to a restaurant for lunch. We had some chicken, fish, pork and vegetables. We were full. For dinner, we had dumplings together. They were all traditional Chinese food.

It was a wonderful day. I love China! I love Chinese food!
