M4 U2 Project: Making a speech about sport Teaching objectives: At the end of this lesson, you will be able to ①know the requirements of entering a new sport into the Olympics. ②know how to make a speech about sport.

Step I. Lead in To arouse students’

interest and review what they have learnt about sports, a game will be played.(according to the hints given on the screen, have students guess what the sport is) Step II. Read and answer Have students read passage one and answer the following questions. 1) What requirements must be met before a sport can be considered by the IOC? 2) What sports will be probably included in 2016? Why? 3) What sport is applying to get into the Olympics?
