教学目标:

1、能听懂并说出单词:grandparents、old、young、then、beautiful和功能句: They weren’t old then. They were young. She wasn’t tall then . She was short. It wasn’t clean then . It was dirty .

2、能灵活使用功能句,并能说明某人或某物过去的特征与状态,比较现在和过去。

3、通过多种多样的教学方法,使学生保持持久的学习兴趣,勇于创新。在学习中乐于参与、积极合作。

教学重难点:

重点:能在实际中运用一般过去时描述人或事物的特征与状态,比较现在和过去。难点:能够准确地发音“wasn’t 、weren’t”并能正确运用。

教学方法:任务型教学方法、图片展示法、视听法。

教学过程:

Step 1 Warming up

1、Greetings 。

2、Sing a song 。

Step 2 Let in

1、出示有关Ling ling过去2岁和现在的图片,通过补全句子重温M5U1的课文内容。

2、出示更多图片,复习巩固所学的一般过去时和一般现在时的时态,总结现在的“是”和过去的“是”的表示方法。

Step 3 Presentation

1、Activity 1

(1)出示蝴蝶图片,导入活动1。Look at the pictures ,and ask Ss :What are they like ?(They are beautiful . Do you know how they become butterflies from larvas? Were they beautiful then ?) 出示蝴蝶形成的过程图片,为活动1的导入做好铺垫。

(2)听录音第一遍,找出答案:Were they beautiful then ?

(3)再听录音,跟读课文,结合师范读生跟读,再齐读方式认读课文。

2、Activity 2

(1)let in new words ( negative forms of verbs in the past ) :isn’t = is not aren’t = are not wasn’t = was not weren’t =were not 。

(2)出示活动2图片,让学生看图说话。老师指导生认读。(反复操练句子)

(3)听录音,理解课文内容。

(4)认读课文。

Step 4 consolidation

1、Role play : let several groups act out the content。

2、Exercise practicing : look and match 。

Step 5 sum up

总结:描述过去的事物——She was / wasn’t … They were /weren’t …

Step 6 homework

回家找出一张过去的全家福,用wasn’t/ weren’t描述一下家人过去的样子.再用am/is/are描述一下家人现在的样子。
