Teaching procedures Step1 Greetings T:The class begins. M: Stand up. Ss：Good morning, Miss Zhang.

T：Good morning, boys and girls. Sit down, please. Ss: Thank you. Step2：Lead-in T：Well, boys and girls. Let’s listen to music—What would you like to eat today?

Sing together, please. After listening, let’s look at some pictures.(The teacher shows some pictures on the screen. There are some fresh tomatoes and carrots in the pictures.)and tell me how you feel. Ss：The tomatoes and carrots are very fresh. T:Good. Now look at another two pictures.(The teacher gives two pictures. There are some potatoes and green beans in the pictures.)What does Chen Jie eat for dinner? Ss: She eats potatoes and green beans for dinner. T: Great. We’ll learn more words about food in this class. Let’s begin.

Step3：Presentation (1)(The teacher plays the multimedia) Boys and girls, firstly, let’s listen to the tape and number the sentences.(The sentences includes the new words) . Listen again. T: Who got the answer? Put up your hands. The teacher asks some students to check the answers. Then let them read after the tape. (2)T:(The teacher shows one picture on the screen. Lily would like a sandwich and his brother would like two sandwiches in the pictures .)Boys and girls, look at the picture and what would Lily and her brother like? Ss: She would like a sandwich and her brother would like two sandwiches. T: You are so smart. Now follow the tape to read the word. Then read after me. OK. Who want to read the word?(The teacher asks four students to read the word.) At last, the teacher write the word on the blackboard and let students cope it three times.(The teacher would check it) The teacher uses the same way to help students learn the other words, hamburger, tea, ice cream, salad.

Step4 Practice The teacher asks some students to answer two questions. One is “What is your favorite food?”The other is “What is it”(The teacher takes out some pictures about the new words and point to one of them to ask students the question.) Then the teacher would ask some students to stand in the front to ask the others “What is it” by using the pictures. At last, I would ask some students to put the pictures on the blackboard.

Step5:Production (1)T(The teacher gives a picture. There is a restaurant and some foods in the picture.)If your parents and you were in this restaurant now, What would you like to eat/drink? Discuss with your partners. Then you should stand in the front and share with us. Ss：OK. The teacher would ask some groups of students to make conversations. The teacher gives a letter on the screen.(The letter is about the new words). Students should read the letter and tick or cross the sentences. Step6 Summary and homework Summary Students should make a summary about what we have learnt in this class with the teacher. (The teacher would play a video to help students to make a summary. ) Homework Read and recite the new words.
