Teaching aims:

1 Master the words and expressions related to sports and be capable to discuss the issues of playing sports; 2 Can be able to talk about the benefits of sports and develop their listening and speaking abilities ; 3 Arouse and improve their awareness of doing sports. Teaching important and difficult points：

1 How to create a harmonious and lively atmosphere for students to participate in the class and be brave enough to express their opinions; 2 How to expand their vocabulary related to sports and apply them; 3 How to develop their speaking and listening abilities. Teaching methods：

Step one：Lead-in 1

Enjoy a video about sports .

This step is designed to arouse students’ learning interest and point out the topic sports. Step two：Enjoy more pictures about sports Introduce some sports to students and widen their knowledge about sport vocabulary. Step three:

Free talk

“ can you use two to five sentences to describe the following five sports?”

students are supposed to describe the sports by employ the words, phrases and sentenced they have learned before so as to practice their speaking ability. Step four : Discussion

The learners can start their discussion by talking about the benefits we can get from playing sports to make a preparation for the coming speech.
