学情分析: 四年级的学生活泼好动，具有很强的模仿力与求知欲，所以要加强学生听说读写能力，提高学生的创新能力与合作能力，能用简单的句子与他人进行英语交流，鼓励学生在小组合作中团结协作，共同进步，激发学生持久的学习兴趣。

教学目标: 知识和技能目标：

1.能听懂、会说、认读并书写下列词汇：tall 2.能用句子-How tall are you? - I am ______ metres tall.来提问并准确回答。

情感态度目标：

使学生乐于学习英语，能够积极的用英语进行交流并通过小组合作方式激发学生的学习兴趣与合作。

学习策略目标：

通过让学生实际操作，小组讨论等方式培养学生英语思维及互助学习模式。

教学重点：

能用句子-How tall are you? - I am ______ metres tall.来提问并准确回答。

教学难点：

能够测量彼此的身高，并说出某人多高。

教学过程：

Step1. Warming up. Sing the song

“Short and tall dinosaurs”.

Step 2. New Concepts. 1. Let the students tell tall from short. ( Show a picture of Pan Changjiang and Liu Xiang) 2. Show some animals. What animal is it? Is it tall?

3. Welcome two students (one is very tall, the other is short) to stand in the front of the classroom. T: Who is tall? Who is short? S: ... is tall. ...is short. 4. T: Am i tall ? How tall am i ? ( Teacher measure herself and say the number.）

Then measure the two students and write down the numbers.

T: How tall are you?

T: Oh,you’re 1.58 metres tall.

T: How tall are you?

T: Oh,you’re 1.3 metres tall.

(Write the sentences on the blackboard.)

Point, say it, please. 5. Show some numbers on the screen and teach reading. 6. Show some animals on the screen.

T: How tall is it( panda)? S1: It’s 1.6 metres tall.

S2:How tall is it (giraffe)? S3:It’s 3.1 metres tall.

Pair work : ask and answer with your friend. 7. See the view of lesson 14 and follow it ,then answer some questions. 8. Show some information about Li Ming and Jenny. Let the students try to ask and answer questions.

Step 3. Presentations. 1. Group work, Measure each other and make a chart. 2. Show time . Teacher takes a picture

of each group's chart and transfor to

the white-board (seewo).

Students show as they like in the front of the classroom. 3. Ask students’ idea about the show.

Step: 4. Homework. 1. Tell your mom and dad how tall you are. 2. Please measure your parents , sisters or brothers, and write down
