文本: Kitty is talking to her friend Laura in the UK on the Internet. Kitty: Hi, Laura. Laura: Hi, Kitty! How are you? Kitty: I’m great, thanks. Today is the Dragon Boat Festival in China. It’s my favourite Chinese festival. What’s your favourite holiday? Laura: Well, everyone in the UK likes Christmas. We have a lot of nice food and we give presents to each other. But my favourite holiday is Easter.

Everyone in the UK likes Christmas. It’s on the 25th of December. At Christmas, we usually decorate a Christmas tree. And on that day, we give gifts to each other and we have a family dinner.

K: When’s Easter?

L: It usually comes on a Sunday in March or April. K: What do you do at Easter? L: We usually go on an egg hunt. Someone hides a lot of eggs and we must find them. Then we can eat them!

K: But you don’t like eggs, Laura.

L: No, I don’t. But these ones are different. They’re chocolate eggs!

I like going on an egg hunt at Easter. First, we take some white eggs and decorate the eggs. Next parents hide the eggs. And then we hunt for the eggs. Finally, we eat chocolate eggs.

People in USA have Thanksgiving. It is on the fourth Thursday of November. People always eat turkey and pumpkin pies for a family dinner. People often thank the others on this day.

本课的教学内容是5BM4U2 Western holiday的第一课时，

教学重点初步能够认识单词Christmas, Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving，

decorate等。并能联系以前学过的句型描述喜欢的节日：My favourite western holiday My favourite western holiday is ____________. It is on ___________________. People ______________________________ 难点是如何让学生正确朗读这些节日的名词，并了解过这些节日时的一些活动。在课的设计中，主要从以下几个方面着手设计：

基于教材文本再构

本课时围绕2个人物: Kitty和Laura的对话展开。首先以观看一段视频，以我们学过的中国节日这些旧知识导入，通过学生们谈论中国节日, 为下面学习西方节日作铺垫。在学习Christmas时，新单词decorate通过形象生动地装扮圣诞

树过程引入，让学生在语境中学习单词，在边装饰中边操练新单词，同时感受圣诞节氛围。在学习复活节的过程中，我拓展再构了寻找复活节彩蛋的文本，让学生真正理解了go on an egg hunt. 并且锻炼学生听力。接着设计我们一起寻找彩蛋的游戏中，学习hunt for 这个词组，寓教于乐，吸引学生兴趣。通过文本Thanksgiving 的阅读，训练了学生薄弱的阅读能力，在课堂中read and choose，了解thanksgiving. 最后在层层铺垫下鼓励学生利用本课中学习的节日活动，学会描述这些西方的节日。

本课时，我还自编了一些儿歌和诗的文本，如Christmas tree ，go on an egg hunt,调动学生的积极性，

holidays are special, holidays are fun. Enjoy every holiday. Enjoy everyday. Life is so beautiful. 提升本课的主题，使学生享受节日，享受美好的生活。

运用媒体渲染课堂氛围

本课时考虑到学生注意力不容易集中的特点，尽可能多的使用图片、视频、录音、儿歌及背景音乐，意在激发学生的学习兴趣，在实际语境的渲染中，吸引学生注意力。同时锻炼学生听和说的能力，使学生能够掌握所学。

关注朗读和语用能力

对于小学生来说，本课时的文本较多，有听力、儿歌、有语段。所以注重朗读是不可或缺的重要因素，关注学生朗读训练，教他们运用语调、配合伴奏，将儿歌或语段读得优美，将感情融入到文本中。
