Analysis of the students and the contents: The students in Class 10 have a passion for English as they’ve realized the significance and the necessity of learning English well, and at the same time, they value my class. So it should not be too hard to cooperate in class unless the content is too difficult for them to understand. During the reading period, they are required to adopt various reading skills they’ve learned to deal with different tasks. With so many new and rarely used words as well as lots of long sentences in it, the reading task seems to be the most difficult one in senior English from my point of view. Hence, it will be a great challenge to both the students and myself if we need to have a profound understanding of it, though it’s easy to get the main idea and the structure of the text.

Teaching Aims:

Help the Ss know about the English authoresses and their works in the 19th century

Improve the Ss’ reading skills such as prediction, skimming, scanning and skipping.

Make it sense that boys can learn a language as well as girls, at the same time, girls can make great contributions to the society as the boys only if they stick to their own dreams.
