教学内容分析：

本单元的课文情境是对比过去与现在的不同，课文中展示了三组说明过去与现在不同的图片。这三组图片对比向学生揭示了这样一个道理：事物是变化的，要用发展的眼光看事物。

教学目标：

1. 使学生能准确认读单词clean, dirty, wasn’t, weren’t等；

2. 使学生会使用句型They are old. They were young. They weren’t old the. 3. 使学生能初步感知中英文在谈论过去的事情和情况时的异同。

重点：使学生能熟练掌握本课的目标词汇和目标句型；

难点：使学生能在日常生活中用目标语句中谈论过去和现在的区别；

教学过程：

Step 1 Warm-up

A. Greetings.

B. Review the opposite words.

(young-old)

(big-small)

(long-short)

(tall-short)

(fat-thin)

Speak out the words and then read for twice. Step 2

Lead-in

A. Show some pictures to practice the structure:

E.g.: She was_____ then.

She is ______ now.

Her hair was _______ then.

Her hair is ______ now.

B: Show a pictures of butterfly and teach the sentence:

It’s very beautiful.

T: Before it became a butterfly, it wasn’t beautiful then.

C. Play a video and then repeat. Step 3 Presentation

A. Show some groups of pictures, compare with the structures.

E.g.:

They are old.

They aren’t young.

They were young.

They weren’t old.

(Have Ss understand the adjectives and the structures.)

Teach the new words: clean, dirty

B. Play the video, Ss watch together.

C. Listen and repeat.

D. Read in different ways. Step 4 Practice

A. Look at the picture and fill in the blanks(The first group).

B. Look at the picture and fill in the blanks(The second group). Step 5 Summary

Ask some students to talk about what we have learnt today. Homework: 1. Read the conversation for at least three times. 2. Write down the words in this unit. 3. Talk about pictures about your parents and yourself. Blackboard Design:
