教学目标

[设计说明] 通过几个问题直接引入要学习的内容。由于第一篇课文介绍志愿者在巴布亚新几内亚独立国部落教书的经历，所以提问how about the gifts for the children in Papua in New Guinea ?学生可能会回答：Teach the children.也可能会出现这样的答案，如：Send some clothes/some money/some gifts to them.这样教师可以顺利地进入下面的问题：How can you send the gifts to them？随后进入课文的阅读。

(6)I [设计说明]作为语言运用部分的阅读文章，“世界上最有用的礼物清单”通过图文结合的方式，介绍了一些特殊的礼品，阅读难度不大。所以只设计了两个练习来帮助学生理解课文内容。第一个练习是学生快速阅读后回答问题，第二个练习是以做游戏选圣诞树礼物来引导学生选什么样的礼物给需要的人，让学生选择，然后猜礼物的名称，调动学生的积极性。之后，可以简单提提文中出现的短语：in need，choose from，及两个名词短语sewing machine，trunk library。
