Read the sentences and pay attention to the

1.-ed分词既可以作前置定语，也可以作后置定语。

2.单个的过去分词作定语作前置定语。过去分词

短语作定语通常后置。无论过去分词充当前置

定语还是后置定语都相当于一个定语从句，省

略了主语和be动词。

例:

中国制造的车

a car made in China

a car (that is) made in China

鲁迅写的书

a book written by Lu Xun

a book (which is) written by Lu Xun 3. 及物动词的过去分词具有被动和完成

意义。

a broken cup

一个破杯子

a wounded soldier

一名伤员

4. 不及物动词的过去分词具有主动和完成

意义。

fallen leaves

落叶

boiled water

白开水

5. 现在分词和过去分词作定语的区别：

过去分词作定语表示被动且完成；而现

在分词作定语表示主动或正在进行。

boiling water: 沸腾的水

boiled water:

烧开过的水（白开水）

falling leaves: 正在下落的叶子

fallen leaves:

已经下落的叶子

a rising sun

正在升起的太阳

a risen sun

升起的太阳

6. 某些动词的过去分词已转化成了形容词，表示某人的内心感受，有时还可以修饰voice, expression, look等名词，表示透过某人的声音和表情而显示出某人的内心感受。

例:

他感到纳闷的表情

his puzzled expression 她感到害怕的声音

her frightened voice 他感到难过的面容

his depressed look 7. 某些动词的现在分词表示“令人感

到……的”, 过去分词表示

“感到……的”，表示某人的内心感受。
