Teaching procedures：

Step 1: warming up 1.Song : what can you ? 2.Game: Low voice VS High voice 3.T presents the pictures of a rat and a snake and asks, “Boys and girls, do you know what are they?”

Ss, “A mouse and a snake.”

T, “Yes, it’

s a mouse and a snake, and we can also call the mouse a “rat”. (T presents the word rat). Today we’re going to learn a story of a rat and a snake. Are you ready? Step 2: presentation 1.T plays the video of the story and let Ss sense its main idea. 2.T presents several questions on the PPT and plays the video again. After the listening, Ss are asked to answer the questions.

5.Ss read the story after T and the tape. Step 3: consolidation 1.Read the story in roles with partners, then T asks some of Ss to perform it in class. 2. Game: Dubbing Step 4: Summary and Homework Retell the story to your friends after class.

Reflection: Ss are likely to accept the knowledge easier if the news words are presented first. They like the role-play part and the dubbing part. It’s an effective class.
