What's this in English? 3a-3e 一、教学目标：

1. 语言知识目标：

1) 能掌握以下单词：orange, ruler, pen, key, jacket, map, cup, quilt , spell, please. 2) 能掌握以下句型：

— What's this in English? — It's an orange. ②

— What's that in English? — It's a map? ③

— Spell it, please.

— M-A-P.

2. 情感态度价值观目标：

在认识事物的学习活动中培养学生的想象力和创造力；激发学生学习英语的兴趣，发挥学生学习英语的主动性；通过小组活动、组间竞赛，培养学生的合作意识和团队精神。

二、教学重难点

1.运用

- What's this/that? -It's a/an… 句型对周围的事物进行问答练习。

2.运用Spell it, please句型，练习拼写所学的有关事物的单词，并强化记忆这些单词。

三、教学过程

Step1. Greetings T:Good afternoon,boys and girls. Students:Good afternoon,Miss Ling. T:Sit down,please. Students:Thank you. Step2.Lead-in and warming-up 1.Lead-in T:Look at here,what’s this in English?

Students:It’s a map.

T:Yeah,It’s a map

and it’s a map of China.Today we’re going to learn starter unit2:what’s this in English?3a to 3e.

2.Warming-up Students sing an English song(the alphabet song). Step3.Revision 1.Review the letters(from A to R):Let’s see who has good eyes？

2. Review the words.

Show some pictures on the screen . (cup,pen,key,jacket,ruler,quilt,map and orange.)

Ask Students to answer the questions:

T: What's this in English?

Students: It's a cup.

T: What's this in English?

Students: It's a pen.

(Ask and answer other objects in the same way)

3. Ask and answer.Point to an orange on the screen and ask Students: What's this in

English?

Students: It's an orange.

Point to a picture of map. Ask Students :What's that in English?

Students: It's a map.

First explain “this”and “that”to students and how to use them,then translate the sentences into Chinese, after that,read the words and the sentences after the teacher ,at last,practice the dialogues in roles.

4.Let Students ask and answer about the objects in pairs like above. Then ask several pairs to act out their conversations. 5.Show some pictures,ask and answer like this: What’s this/that in English?

Step4. Listening 1. 让学生们看3a中的八幅图画，说出每幅图画的英语名称。

2. 告诉学生们下面将听到的录音中是图画中的事物。听录音，按录音中所读的顺序将这八幅图画排序。

3. 3a. Listen to the recording and number the pictures.

（For the first time, only listen. For the second time, listen and number the pictures. Then check the answers.）

4. 3b. Now let's listen to the recording again. And complete the words under the pictures in 3a.

(Play the tapes for two times,students listen and write letters to complete the words. Then check the answers with the whole class. ) Step5. Pair work 1. 3c.（让学生们看3c图画中的人物的对话，告诉学生们艾里克与海伦在问答地图的说法及拼写。）

Step6. Listening 1. Tell Students to look at the box in 3d. Then let some Students read the words aloud. Make sure they know the meaning of every word.

____ ruler 2. Tell Students that they will hear four conversations. They are about four different objects. Listen to the conversations and number the words you hear 1-4. 3. Play the recording for the Students listen and number the words 1-4.

(Play the recording for two times, listen and number the words.Then check the answers.)

Step7. Pair work.(Talk about the things in the picture.) 1. T: Look at the picture in 3e. This is Helen's room. Eric and Helen are talking about the objects in her room. What can you see in the room?

Students: A map, a ruler, a pen, an orange, a quilt and a jacket. A: What’s that in English?

B: It’s an orange.

A: Spell it, please. B: O-R-A-N-G-E. 2. Give students 20 seconds to remember the place of the things in Helen’s bedroom,then guess what they are. T: What's this in English? Students: It's a jacket. T: Spell it, please. Students: J-A-C-K-E-T.

T: What's this in English? Students: It's a quilt.

T: Spell it, please. Students: Q-U-A-L-T.

T: What's this in English? Students: It's an orange.

T: Spell it, please. Students: O-R-A-N-G-E. ...

Guess other objects in the same way 3. Now work with your partner and ask and answer about the objects in Helen's room.
