T guides Ss to guess “clock”.Then
T asks “What can a clock do?”,and guides Ss to answer “It can tell us the time.”

Ss may answer:What’s the time? (they have learnt in Grade Four.)
T:I’ll show you another way to ask about the time.Look!(show the card
and put it on the Bb:What time is it? ,and ask Ss to repeat) Ps:If Ss answer:What time is it? T should tell them the way they have learnt to ask about the time:What’s the time? ,after showing the card(What time is it?) 3)

PPT: a clock shows 8:10 T:Look at the screen,what time is it?( Guides Ss to say:It’s eight ten)
T:So,what does the long hand mean?(teach the numbers of ”minute” with the help of PPT,that is ,each number on a clock means:five,ten,fifteen,twenty,twenty-five,thirty,thirty-five,forty,forty-five,fifty,fifty-five.)Ss read after the T at least two times. 2)

Ss:It’s six thirty.
T: It’s six thirty in the morning.I am hungry.(T touches stomach,and helps Ss understand “hungry”)Why? Because it’s time for breakfast.(teach the new word “breakfast”;show the card and put it on the Bb:It’s time for…) T shows some cards to help Ss understand “It’s time for…”. Eg:lunch,supper,homework,games 3)
After showing a card like :games ,T:we can also say “It’s time to play games.”(put the card of drill:It’s time to …on the Bb.After that,T shows the same cards,and presents another drill “It’s time to …”)
