Unit 3 Story time ,in Book 2 of PEP English in Grade 3 •Teaching plan Ⅰ. Teaching aims 1.

singing songs; 2. pictures; 3. group work; 4. role- play Ⅳ. Teaching procedures: Step 1: Warming up Let’s sing “I love my family”. Clap your hands and sing loudly. Step 2: Presentation (1)

Show the family photos on PPT. Students ask questions individually to

know about my family. Then invite students to be “Spokesman”

to help meanswer . (2)

Review the key sentence pattern in Unit2:--Who is that woman / man?

--She / He is my ...

And read loudly. (3)

One girl also shows her family photo. Look at her family photo on PPT.Now other students are all “Little reporters”.

Let’s interview the girl and

ask her questions with the sentence pattern. (4)

The girl’s mother is also a teacher. Ask the girl what her mother does

and guide students to make a question:Really? Then read three times and pay attention to the tone. (5)

Present a beautiful woman’s photo.Question: Who is that woman?What does she do? Lead the students to answer “She’s an actress.”

Then present

“an actress.”

Read repeatedly.

Question again: What’s she like? Present “beautiful”

,read and spell. Make boys say “Beautiful!”

to girls and girls say “Thank you”.

Work in groups and tell the story in 2 minutes. (7)

Listen to the tape and follow it. Read in roles in 2 groups.

Step 3:Practice Role play the story with the headwear. Emphasize to copy the actions, expressions,

and intonations. Ask 2 groups to act the story out.

Then

decide the better group and reward them for “four little cakes”

on the

blackboard. Step 4: Summary It’s really an interesting story. We know that Zoom’s mother is an actress.
