Unit 11 Western festivals 教学设计

第一课时

长治县实验小学秦江灵

教学内容:Listen and say,Look and learn

教学目标:

知识与技能目标:通过Listen and say 的短文,了解四个重要的西方节日,复习日期表达法。

过程与方法目标:通过Look and learn,了解四个节日的名称及相关文化背景。

情感态度价值观目标:培养学生从文章中获取主要信息,并进行分析、推理和判断的能力。

教学重难点:

句型复习: At Easter,children usually eat chocolate eggs. Halloween is on 31st October.

日常用语:Trick or treat?

教学难点:1、日期表达法

2、几个主要节日的准确读音和拼写。

学情分析:学生已经了解了中国的传统节日,并知道这些节日的时间。六年级学生已经学过用英文表达日期。但月份和星期的单词学生掌握起来有些困难,还需在本节课进一步学习用介词如何表达日期。

教学过程:

Step1、Greetings

Step2、Revise

1. 出示中国传统节日的图片,请学生根据图片说出中国传统节日。然后让学生说说喜欢哪一个中国传统节日,并说说这个节日有些什么活动(同时复习五年级下册Unit 11 Chinese festival的相关文化知识)。

T: Look at the pictures, what festivals are these?

S1: They are the Spring Festival ,the Mid-Autumn Festival and the Double Ninth Festival.

T: What is your favorite festival?

S2: I like the Spring Festival best.

T: What do you usually do during the Spring Festival?

S1: I usually visit my grandparents and relatives. We eat nice food and watch fireworks.

请学生两人一组进行问答练习。

2. 在各节日名称后出示各节日的日期,请学生用英文表达日期。Step3、lead-in

1. 以头脑风暴的形式问问学生知道哪些西方的节日,并根据需要在黑板上板书。 T: What western festivals do you know?

览:

S1:Chrismas,Halloween …

T: When’ s Christmas?

S2: It is in December. It’s on 25th December.

Today we’ll learn unit 11 western festivals(板书)

2、Show the aims

1、我能在语境中听懂、认识、理解本课时词汇,Western turkey jack-o’- laterns

2 、我了解四个节日的名称及相关活动。

Easter、 Halloween 、 Thanksgiving 、 Chrismas

3、我能用英语表达日期,并能正确使用in、 at 、 on

4、我能听懂、读懂并灵活运用句型“When’s……? It’s on…….” “What do people usually do at this festival? People usually…….”

Step4、 Presentation

1、教师出示Look and learn 中的图片,依次介绍Easter , Halloween , Thanksgiving , Christmas, 然后教师领读,要求学生听说读准上述表示西方节日词汇。

T: Easter Day is always on a Sunday in March or April. Halloween is on 31st October.

Thanksgiving is on the fourth Thursday in November.

Christmas is on 25th December.

2. 出示 Listen and say的图片, 播放录音, 学生边听边看课文及图片。

3. 再次播放课文录音,请学生逐句跟读,鼓励学生尽量模仿录音中人

物的语音语调。

Step5、Self-study

1、Ask the students to talk about in groups. then ask the questions.

When’s Easter/Halloween/Thanksgiving/Chrismas?

It’s on …….

What do people usually do at this festivals?

People usually……

2、让学生之间展开活动,一组说时间或活动词,一组说出节日名称。鼓励学生自己当小老师,训练四个节日的名称和相关活动。

如:学生根据课文内容判断是哪个节日。

1) Children eat chocolate eggs at this festival.(Easter)

2) Children get candy from their neighbors.(Halloween )

3) It is on the fourth Thursday in November.(Thanksgiving)

4) Father Christmas gives presents to children.(Christmas )

5) People give presents to each other.(Christmas )

6) People say “ thank you” each other.(Thanksgiving ) Step6、Inquiry and inquiry

Listen again. ask the students to findout“in at on”in the sentences. then encourage Ss to explain.

语法知识点:

in、at 和 on 作为节日时间介词的用法:

时间介词中 at 和 on 的用法 :若表示具体某天或节日后有 Day , 一般用on , 如on Christmas Day, on children’s Day, on Christmas Eve;其后若没有 Day 或者用 Festival 时一般用 at ,如 at Easter, at Halloween, at Christmas, at spring Festival 等。介词in用在大地点前和月份前,如 in March in the US 短语:ge t … from ; give … to ;

日常用语:Trick or treat?(不给糖就捣蛋 )

2、Read the article again. Write an article about one of the Chinese seasonal festival.
