Unit 2 They were young.

Teaching aims :Students can use the past tense to describe the people .

Teaching difficulties:They weren’t old then . They were young . is - was am --was are -were

Teaching procedures:

Step 1: leading in

Let the students retell the story .

Get the Ss to act out the dialogue.

Step 2:Lead - in

Describe the photos or pictures with comparing the present and past tense .

Step3 Presentation

1.Tell the Ss wasn’t and the was not are the same . And weren’t is the same as were not .

2.Play the tape and let students listen to the tape and find out the adjectives words .And report them .(review adjectives and find out the difference )

3.Learn the chant

First get the students look at the pictures and try to describe them .

Try to read after the chant .

Step4:Practice

Listen and repeat. And read it in pairs.

Chant and mimes at the same time .

Step 5: homework

Read the text and try to practice with the pairs .

Teaching reflection:

本节课主要学习am is are 的过去式。在教学过程中运用照片等实物能提高学生的兴趣和积极性,寓教于乐,复习了前面的知识,更好的教学。但有个别学生胆怯,不敢上台表演,以后这方面应该多加强。
