Warming up T draws the picture on the board and asks: What’s it?

The pupils guess: TV.

Guides the pupils pay attention to the big letters.

Presentation 1. T teaches them learn to say and spell: television.

2. Write “TV——television” on the board. T guides the

pupils to understand and say: TV is short for television.

3. T: Do you like watching TV? Do you often watch TV?

T shows the pictures of different TV programmes. Then asks: What’s on TV? The pupils learn to say: TV programmes. Then T introduces: There are many different TV programmes. The pupils learn to understand and say: different. 4. T: They are cartoons/ sports programmes/ …

The pupils listen to the tape and try to point the correct pictures. 5. T shows the pictures one by one, the pupils read the words after tape.

6. Listen to the tape again, the pupils read six words after the tape.

Let pupils listen to the sentences. ②

Teacher writes the sentences on the board and ask the pupils to listen and number. 7. T asks one pupil read the sentences.

Practice 1. The pupils tick what they like to watch on TV.

And they practise in groups. Talk about what they like or don’t like.

T guides the pupils to understand and say: Children usually like cartoons. Different people like different programmes. 3. Listen to the tape and read the passage after it. Then read

it together/ in groups. 4. Ask and answer the questions in pairs. Then check the answer.

5 To understand the sentences: I’ve got a friend called Kevin Dee. Switch

on the telly. Watch for a while. He’s eating sweets. First. Then. I love

these sweets. Thousands of children like you and me want to have what they see on TV. Big bags of the sweets that Kevin eats. He only eats them on TV. I know, ’cause Kevin goes to school with me.

To understanding the poem. 1. Pronounce the word “thousand” correctly.

5. Learn paragraph 3 and 4.

1) Read and underline the answers. What do children want to have? What do they go and buy? How do I know that Kevin says on TV is not true? 2) Learn the sentence: Thousands of children like you and me want to have what they see on TV. T shows the cards and read the phrases: what they see on TV, want to have, thousands of children, like you and me. 3) Learn the sentence: Big bags of the sweets that Kevin eats. 7

4) Shows and learn: He only eats them on TV. I know, ’cause Kevin goes to school with me!
