Teaching Plan

Analysis of the learners The target students are in the second semester of Grade 7. Considering the fact that they have learned English for several years, they have already known a certain range of vocabulary to talk about the topic of this lesson. Considering their age, these students have strong curiosity as well as interests in new things and have affections for outdoor activities, so the topic is to their taste. In general, they have higher average level in reading and writing, but are weaker in listening and speaking. So I plan to design different kinds of listening and speaking activities. And plenty of related pictures are shown to attract their attentions and strengthen understandings.

Teaching aims The integrated skills part in this unit talks about the history of and a day out for outdoor activities. Knowledge:

By the end of this lesson, the Ss will be able to: (1)

Recognize and understand the new words, phrases and sentences. (2)

Learn about the history of kites. (3)

Know the preparations as well as the do’s and the don’ts for outdoor activities

Ability: (1)

Develop students’ ability to obtain information and get the main idea of the text through listening and reading. (2)

Cultivating students’ ability to talk about outdoor activities freely according to what they’ve learned.
