Step1. Lead-in 1.

Free talk: How are you today? What’s the weather like today? Take good care of yourselves, especially in spring. Are you ready for the class? 2.

Present teaching objectives. T: By the end of this lesson, you will be able to learn many new words and useful expressions, clear? 3.

Watch a video called Car Balancing, then try to fill the blanks according to it.

T: We all think it’s amazing, right? You know the world is full of amazing things. Next, I’ll show you some amazing pictures. Let’s see what’s amazing in the pictures? 1.

Today we’ll share all the amazing things with our classmates and friends. Before that, let’s meet some new words in Part A. 2. Present some new words and expressions with pictures and sentences. 3. Match the pictures with the sentences. 4. Practice reading the sentences by yourselves. 5. Close your books and let me see if you can remember the four amazing things.

Listen to their conversation and tell me which pictures they’re talking about and what they think of the facts.

S: They are talking about Picture 1 and Picture 4. They think they are interesting and amazing. 3. T: Close your books and listen to the conversation again. Try to repeat the sentences. 4. T: Now the boys will role-play Kitty and the girls will role-play Amy. Let’s read the conversation together. Try not to look at the book if you can. Step5. Practice 1. T: Well, boys and girls, I think you are able to talk about amazing things in pairs. Before talking, let’s look at some more amazing things. 1) We sneeze with our eyes closed. 2) The biggest apple in the world weighs about 1.67 kilograms. 3) A dog can catch 13 mice a day. 4) The tallest man from the Qing Dynasty is called Zhan Shichai. about them with your partners. You can use Kitty and Amy’s conversation as a model. Don’t forget to use some adjectives to express your feelings and opinions. Step6. Comic strip 1.

T: Hobo and Eddie are talking about something strange in the sky. Do you know what they are talking about? Let’s have a look.

Find out more amazing things and tell your friends about them. Teaching Reflections: Today I began my new lesson of Unit 5, that was about amazing things. I didn’t think it was quite difficult for me. Before this class, I searched for pictures and videos about amazing things and shared all of them with my students. All the students enjoyed themselves in this class. They learned so many amazing things and they could talk about them and share their feelings with their partners and other classmates in English. They learned how to express their feelings and opinions while talking about the amazing things. This class is full of joy and fun. I’m sure all the students and teachers will remember this class forever!
