一、教材分析

二、学情分析

This is the fourth teaching period of Unit1 Book4 and the reading is about life and career of a famous Chinese doctor-Lin Qiaozhi. The whole passage is not difficult to understand but some sentences are complicated. The teacher should explain some language points to students to help them understand the passage. After learning the previous lessons of this Unit, students have known some stories of great women in the world. Like the writer of the passage, students may not have clear idea what they would like to do, but they may note how the writer went about deciding which subject to apply for in university through the passage. Students can use some reading skills they have learnt to understand the passage, but their learning strategies are still not good.
