Unit8 Pets Integrated skills 【教学目标】

1.To identify specific characteristics in a description of goldfish. 2.To listen for details and extract specific information. 【教学重难点】

To listen for specific information to complete a conversation. 【课前预习】

预习P99~100的生词，将不懂的词组或句子划下做记录。

【课堂导学】

Step 1

Lead in 1.

Play a guessing game. 2.

2.Have a free talk: What’s your favourite pet? And why?

Step2

Presentation 1.

T: Do you want to know more about goldfish? We will listen to a talk about fantail goldfish in Part A1. Play the recording and ask students to answer.（correct the false sentences）

Then, check answers with the whole class.

Step 3

Practice 1.

T: Read the leaflet in part A2 about how to look after a fantail fish.

Students check the meanings of the statements. 2.

Try to retell the sentences.

Step4

Practice 1. Ask students to read the phone conversation in part A3 between Amy and Peter and complete it with the help of the information on Page 99.

2. Ask a pair to present the conversation to the class .

Step5

Speak up 1

Listen and try to find the pets masters.

2. Listen to the tape with the question below:

How do they look after their pet dog/cat/fish? 3. Give students a few minutes to practise presenting their conversations to the class.
