一、教学内容分析

本单元的中心话题是“发明家与发明”。具体涉及“发明与发现的区别”、“发明产生的过程”和“申请发明专利的条件”。语言技能和语言知识都是围绕“发明”这一中心话题设计的。“语言学习”（Learning about Language）部分中的“词汇学习”部分要求学生正确使用本单元中的一些重要词汇完成语篇填空，并能用课文中出现的新单词和词组来替换其英语释义。而本节课重点在于学生识记本单元重要单词和短语并能灵活运用单词于句子和篇章中。

二、教学目标

1. 知识目标：学生识记本单元重要单词和短语：file，jam，bear，

helicopter，distinguish，convenient，associate，seize, get through, dive into, set out (to do), traffic jam，merciful, product,

stainless, patent, powder, cube, abrupt, merry, passive, freezing, valid, caution, courtyard, expectation, dial, rainfall, innocent, call up, now and then等，并能灵活运用于句子和篇章中。

2. 能力目标：学生能运用本单元的重点词汇进行造句和编故事活动，培养学生的英语表达能力；学生能在语境中进行词义猜测，培养学生猜测词义的能力。

3. 情感态度目标：不怕失败，而且保持好奇之心，努力学习，也可以像那些发明家一样使我们的生活越来越美好。

三、教学重难点

教学重点：学生识记本单元重要单词和短语并能灵活运用单词于句子和篇章中。

教学难点：学生能运用本单元的重点词汇进行造句和编故事活动。

四、教学方法和学习方法

启发式教学方法和任务型教学法，

练习法和小组讨论学习法。

五、学情分析

高二（2）班是一个理科班，全班共30人。大部分学生能根据结合单词的读音记单词的拼写，但他们觉得记单词的词义比较困难，主要体现在考试时，由于不知道个别词汇的词义或不能正确猜测出词汇的词义，导致无法更好地理解文本。此外，学生已完成本单元的阅读教学任务，已接触阅读文本The problem of the snakes中的词汇，并布置学生完成书本P23页的课后的练习。另外，学生平时课堂上有开展小组讨论活动。

六、教具

多媒体课件、黑板，单词卡和布娃娃辅助学生掌握并完成课堂任务。
