This is the second teaching period of Starter Unit2 . It is a listening & speaking lesson. The title is What’s this in English. The linguistic focuses are identify things and spell words. The cultural knowledge is let Ss don’t be shy, just open their mouths.

Linguistic knowledge:

Learners Analysis The Ss have a ability to listen and speak English. But They don’t often use English to express themselves and communicate with others. Some students aren’t active in the class. They don’t want to open their mouths because they are afraid of making mistakes. Cultural information：

Ss live in town or country. Most of them are shy, so they are afraid of talking with others in English .

Emotional attitude:

They have the desire to learn about how to say something in English. Teaching Objectives Linguistic objectives 1.

Teaching Methodology My teaching philosophy:

In a listening & speaking class, the best thing for a teacher to do is showing or helping students to learn. Firstly, teacher must encourage students to think then improvement their divergent thinking ability. Secondly, arouse their interest by pictures or activity. Besides, though it is a listening & speaking class, as a language, it should spend more time to let students open their mouth. Last but not least, the class time should be given to the students’ interactive activities. Specific teaching methods:

Teaching Reflection 2mins I am not good at dealing with the class activities, so the activities in this lesson may be dull,but I will try my best. And I am not sure the instructions which I give to the students are clear enough.
