Story time

教学目标：

1. 通过整体阅读、分段品读、寻找重点等方式来理解故事内容。

2. 能听懂、会说、会读单词：ago, then, e-book , mobile phone , newspaper , radio , anywhere。

3. 进一步了解过去时，并运用句型：…years ago, he/she…. Now he/she…表达过去和现在变化。

4. 学会自己有条理地阅读，在阅读中掌握细节，找到相关信息。

5. 能正确地理解并朗读对话内容，在教师的引导和帮助下尝试复述课文内容。

6. 能够在故事中找到读书的乐趣，喜欢自主地阅读文本。

7. 学会了解过去与现在的生活中的变化，体会时代在进步

Step 1 Free talk

1. Say something about the day, date, weather of today and yesterday.

Step 2 Story time

A) Before reading 1. First, let’s meet some people. Who are they? How old are they? Please guess.

They are Mike’s family member. This is Mike’s family now, and this was his family then. The little baby was Mike six years ago, they were Mike’s parents twenty years ago. This was Mike’s grandpa thirty years ago. It’s about the change of Mike’s family. 2. This lesson, we’ll talk about Mike’s family then and now.

3. Today we’ll learn “Unit 4 Then and now”. B) While reading

1. Think and say.

Now Mike can do many things. What can he do?

(He can play football, write and …)

Six years ago, what could (not) he do? (He could not read, draw or …)

Six years ago, Mike could read and draw, but he could not write. Now he can do many things. 2.

Read and say Just now, we talked about Mike then and now. How about his parents and Grandpa? There are some tasks for you.

(1) Task 1 Listen to the tape, and try to catch the time.（听录音，找出文中出现的过去的时间，并圈画记录下来）

（2）Task 2 Read the text, fill in the table and try to say.（自读课文，完成表格，并尝试说说。）

S4: Now Mr Brown writes emails and has a mobile phone.

T: Can you say the differences of them?

He can call people anywhere.

( 3）S5: Then Grandpa listened to the radio and read newspapers.

S6: Now Grandpa reads and watches news on the Internet and reads e-books.

T: Do we get news on the radio now?

Can you say the differences of book and e-book?

(4）S7: Then Mrs Brown made friends at school and bought things from shops.

S8: Now Mrs Brown has e-friends from all over the world and does shopping on the Internet.

1. Look at the form and blackboard, and try to retell the story.

3. Share some pictures about the changes in our family then and now.
