Step 1 Greeting & Warm-up

1. Greeting (问候) T: Hello, boys and girls. S: Hello, teacher. T: I’m glad to see you.

S: Glad to see you, too. 2. Free talk (自由对话) T shows a map of the world before class.

There are four countries concerned: China, Australia, the UK, the USA. T: What countries did you see on the map of the world just now?

Ss recall and say out the four countries. (学生说出四个国家的名称) T: What do you think of the four countries? (Use the sentence pattern: … is a … country.) S: China is a beautiful country. S: The USA is a big country. …

T: We’re going to talk about one of the

countries. Guess! What country are we going to talk about? (教师给予学生2个提示) (1) It is the 6th biggest country in the world. (2) It is in the southern hemisphere.
