Analysis of teaching materials：

The students are freshmen in senior high and the teachers are all new to them. They are curious about what kind of teachers they will have.So the topic of new teachers will interest them.The students in our school are not good at English, especially in listening and speaking.In this class, I will provide them with many chances to practice speaking. This part introduces three teachers and their teaching styles. After reading the passage, the students are expected to understand different characteristics and teaching styles. The reading passage tells us some information about three teachers, Miss.Li , Mrs Chen and Mr.Liu. From the three passages the students can learn about the different teaching styles of different teachers. Teaching aims

Knowledge and Skills:

1）Train the students’ reading skills.

2）Learn the following words and phrases: New words: amusing, energetic, patient, serious, admit, appreciate, avoid, scientific, physics, literature, summaries, respect…

Phrases: be strict with/in, make sure, make process, on time, as a result, fall asleep,

tell jokes.

3）Train the students’ reading abilities.

Emotion and Values：

1）By guiding the students to take an active part in class, help them describe their own feelings in class and their teachers’characters and teaching methods.

2）Get the Ss to love their teachers, cooperate with them, and build a closer relationship.

Process and Methods:

1）Make them discuss the related topic in class.

Speaking, task-teaching, pair-work & group-work. 2）Explanation and activities to help the students understand the passage better.

Important points:

1) Encourage the students to speak actively in class.

1) How to help the students to improve their reading abilities 2) How to help the students understand the whole passage.

Preparation:A blackboard and Multimedia

Teaching procedures：

Step1 Greeting and Revision

Ask two students to write down some words we learnt last period. Then check the result .

Step2 Lead-in

Show some fuzzy pictures about their teachers on the screen and describe the teacher’s characters,Meanwhile,encourage the students to guess who she/he is. Step3 Reading comprehension

Skimming :Ask the students to look through the passage quickly and answer the questions:
