Learning to learn Teaching Goals:

1. To review the frequent verbs: ask, exist, happen, give, live, speak, talk and think. 2. To develop Ss’ speaking and listening ability. 3. To review some useful everyday English. 4. To learn to use the internet helping you study English. Teaching Procedures: Step 1 Lead-in Purpose: To develop Ss’ speaking and review the frequent verbs: ask, exist, happen, give, live, speak, talk and think. Ask the students to discuss the following question in group of four or five: What are the problems that exchange students have? Please number them in order of importance. Suggested answers:

In my opinion, there are some difficulties in communicating with the local people. Because they speak different languages. And food may be the second problem, as each country has its own lifestyle. Thirdly, they have a lot of different subjects to learn. Finally, they have to make new friends or they will feel lonely. It is a strange place for them to study. Anyway, it’s very interesting to study in a foreign country, I think. Step 2 Speaking Purpose: To review the frequent verbs: ask, exist, happen, give, live, speak, talk and think. Ask the students to finish Activity 2 and try to remember the use of the verbs.
