教学目标

1, Enable students to learn and grasp some useful words about people’s character. 2, Enable students to apply these words in the context. 3, Develop students’ ability to get special information and apply it while learning. 4, Help students to build up the motion of “Never give up! Face life actively!”

学情分析

1, 学生知识准备：学生已掌握了一定量的英语词汇和英语语言知识，为学习和掌握更多的词汇奠定了良好的基础。

2, 学生能力准备：高中生已有了一定的接受、加工、处理新知识的能力。通过声音、音乐、图片等形式，设计多种教学活动，设置丰富的语境让学生去体会如何合理地运用所学词汇，并引导他们学会在新的情景下运用已学的知识来提高自己的口头表达能力。

3, 学生心理情感准备：学生需要一些励志的人和事来激励他们，学习一些优良品质，如恒心、乐观向上及团队合作，对学生心理和情感不无益处。学生喜爱英语视频和英语歌曲，都能积极参与各种教学活动。本节课就是要让学生在学习中学会积极向上，永不放弃，勇敢地去面对人生。

重点难点

Step1 Introduction and lead-in Look at a short video and introduce the topic: character qualities Q:

Step2 Learn and remember some words 1, Ask the students to read the words aloud and remember them.

2, Give the students some time to recite the words and show it.



Step3 Guess and describe

Show some pictures and voices to let the students guess who those people are. Then describe people’s character with some adjective words they have learnt.

Step4 Practice Suppose Mary is a very shy girl, who finds it very difficult to communicate with others. Recently, she is faced with some difficulties, feeling very upset. Try to appeal to (呼吁)the classmates to take action to help Mary.

Prepare before class!

In this part, there are 6 tasks assigned to the students before class. Ask the students to search for some information and famous sayings. Ask the students to write their own sentences and poems. Ask the students to cooperate with their teammates. So in the class, it is time to show themselves.

Task1: Sing some inspiring songs to make Mary cheer up! Task2: Collect some famous sayings for Mary! Task3: Recite a poet for Mary Task4: Introduce yourself to express the wish to make friends with Mary! Task5: Give some encouraging words to Mary! Task6: Talk with Mary about how to make friends!



Step5 Writing Write a letter to Mary to encourage Mary to face her life actively and try to use what you have learnt.





Step7 Homework Exchange your article with your teammates to polish it!
