Date: April 19, 2016 Teaching aims and demands: 1. Deepen students’

understanding of characteristic of Rational Cloze and Proof Reading (NMET), especially the verbs to be tested. 2. Discover and summarize the methods and rules according to verbs. Teaching important and difficult points: To make sure the students understand the proper steps of doing the exercise when a verb is given in Rational Cloze and a false verb is found in Proof Reading. Teaching difficult point: Enable the students to use verbs correctly in Rational Cloze and Proof Reading. Teaching methods: Explaining; practicing; summarizing Teaching procedures: Step One

Warming-up Get the students to fill in the blanks with the proper form of the given words in Task 1. Step Two

Summarize

Summarize the proper steps of doing the exercise when a verb is given in Rational Cloze. Step Three

Consolidation Get the students to do the exercise in Task 2 and then check the answers with them. Step Four

Extension activities Get the students to do the exercises in Task 3 and Task 4 and understand how to correct a mistake when a false verb is found in Proof Reading. Step Five
