( Recorder . IQ board ) Step 1: Warming up. 1> Greeting 2> T show a picture of ”diary”, lead out the topic of this unit.
Step 2: Presentation. 1> Look at the picture of diary carefully. T ask some questions: 1. What’s this? 2. Whose diary is it? 3. Where is she from? 4. What does she like? 2> T broadcast the recorder, Ss listen carefully without books. Then answer the questions. 3> Open the books, listen again. Then finish the table. Name Hometown Hobby What she does every day What to write Favourite saying When to start keeping a diary
4> Check the answer, and try to find and read the sentences in text. 5> Learn some new words and sentences: Scotland ; Saying: “keep a diary, and someday it’ll keep you” 6> Read the text after recorder. 7> Read Mary’s diary carefully and circle the past tense words in diary. is-was go-went eat- ate write- wrote 8> Read the diary loudly. Ask: When did Mary write the diary?
Step 3: Consolidation. 1> According to the table, Ss talk about Mary by themselves firstly. 2> Talk about Mary in groups. 3> Show what you talk in class.
