Step 1 Lead-in

Step 2 Presentation

1. Think and say (1)Who can fly in the world?

Superman can fly in the world T: Do you believe /bɪˈliːv/dogs have the ability to fly? What about Eddie? Do you believe he can fly like Superman? OK, let’s learn comic strip. 2. Watch and judge

T:Watch the cartoon and judge the following sentences. Read the questions together first. (1) Eddie is Super dog. (2) Eddie believes he can fly. (3) Hobo doesn’t believe Eddie can fly. (4) Hobo can’t fly, but Eddie can fly.

T: Please take out a piece of paper, and write down the answers on it while watching. Don’t forget to close your English books. T: Please tell me your answers. (after listening) 3. Role-play.

T: Read the dialogue in pairs and try to recite each sentence.

T: Work in pairs. One will play the role of Eddie, the other Hobo. Act the dialogue out. 【设计意图：利用图片导入对话，让学生准备一张纸，边听边写下答案，这样做可以确保学生集中注意力，而不是盲目地听信息。让学生参与角色扮演，帮助他们体会卡通人物的个性。】

Let’s join Helping Hands Club together. Look at the pictures and tell me what we can do at Helping Hands Club. T: What can you do in the park? S2: We can plant trees. S3: We can clean up the park. T: What can we do on the bus? S4: We can give a seat to someone on the bus. T: What can we do if we see some old people on the road? S5: We can help an old man cross the road. T: What can we do for the old people? S6: We can visit an old people’s home. T: What can we do to help people in poor areas? S7: We can collect things for Project Hope. 【设计意图：让学生根据所给图片谈谈自己能为他人做什么，引导学生养成助人为乐的好习惯，也可以引出本节课的重点词组，让学生反复朗读。】

Make up our own dialogue T: There are many old , poor and disabled people around us. Think about what you should do to be a polite and helpful person. Make up a dialogue in your groups. T: Always get ready to give a hand to others because it’s better to give than to take and God helps those who help others. 【设计意图：为学生创设日常生活中经常发生的情境，让他们对照自身的言行举止考虑如何改正不足，鼓励学生成为乐于助人的中学生。】

教学反思：

本节课是七年级下册第七单元的第一部分，内容不难，所以不需要对教学内容进行过度铺垫，但应鼓励学生通过本节课学习，及时运用相关词汇，对于个人能力和乐于助人的相关话题，进行讨论和展示。

前面两个单元讲了amazing things 和Alice in Wonderland, 都是关于让人惊叹的事务和奇幻的个人经历，所以从每节课开始，就是以学生熟知的一些名人导入，迅速激起了学生的表达欲望，很好的打开了本节课的局面，活跃的气氛就此展开。在随后的生词的学习与掌握中，一幅幅图片配合，轻松愉快，我基本只需略作引导，纠正个别单词的读音，当场记忆，当场集体回答，效果很好。

Comic strip 中，是将Eddie想要证明自己具有飞行的能力的话题，能力是各不相同的，所以导入时，我用了具有典型不同能力的公众人物为例来说明，学生们对于姚明，周杰伦，刘翔耳熟能详，对应于他们的能力，也能用英语一口道出，然后再通过图片中鸟类的能力，很顺利地进入到了解Eddie是否具有超能力的学习当中，在看完搞笑的Eddie 表演后，活灵活现，大家开怀大笑，然后，我提问了下面的问题，Eddie有飞翔梦想的尝试跟举动，同学们再想想，是否真的值得好笑？

接下来，总结每个人都有自身的能力，我们可以运用能力去帮助他人，下面让我们一起加入援助之手俱乐部，来帮助身边需要帮助的人们，以此完成课本Welcome to the unit中的part A,再进行深度思考，我们还可以为贫困地区的孩子做什么，以此顺利导入阳光中学孩子们的讨论，并自然过渡到课本PartB 的学习，通过听音回答问题、跟读、选择读的形式，完成课文的学习。

最后，以学生喜欢的游戏形式巩固复习所学内容，最后将所学运用到现实生活中，分小组讨论我们该怎样帮助身边群困、残疾以及困难老人，

着眼于人文关怀与素质教育，结合本课重难点，充分利用多媒体辅助教学，尽量发挥学生学习热情、积极性、注意力，顺利达到了教育教学目的，也让学生们在学习中，在个人品德和思想上得到升华、提高。
