教材分析:本课主要是帮助学生复习归纳过去分词做状语的用法。过去分词做状语时，可以表示时间、原因、条件、方式、伴随状况等。过去分词做状语，其逻辑主语必须与句子的主语一致。

教学目标:

复习过去分词做状语(Revise the Past Participle as the adverbial) 1.

过去分词做状语时，可以表示时间、原因、条件、方式、伴随状况等。如：

But, sir, once educated to speak properly, that girl could pass herself off in three months as a duchess at an ambassador’s garden party.

过去分词做状语，其逻辑主语必须与句子的主语一致。如：

Now once taught by me, she’d become an upper class lady.

明确过去分词作状语与现在分词作状语的实质区别。

语言能力目标：

1. 能理解动词-ing形式和过去分词做状语在具体的语言环境中的使用；

2. 能读懂此语法在故事中的用法和所表示的意义；

3. 能在情境中有效运用所学的词汇和语法表达自己的观点。

情感态度目标：

1.了解到社会环境对人的影响非常大；

2. 通过努力，固化的东西是可以改变和突破的；

3. 热爱祖国的大好河山，也热爱她的文化。

教学重点：

1. 学生通过勾画文本中的过去分词做状语的句子，学会总结归纳结构的形式与功能，培养学生的自主学习能力；

2. 让学生理解和掌握动词-ing和过去分词做状语的含义和用法；

教学难点：

动词过去分词形式在句子中的句法用途；

教学设计:

Step 1 Warming up （引入）

1.Show some pictures ,and fill in the blanks. 2. Encourage the Ss to sum up the forms and functions of the Past Participle

as the Adverbial Step2 Application （运用）

Discuss with partners and rewrite the following sentences. Seen from space, the earth looks like a big blue ball. Moved by the film, he started crying. Heated, water changes into steam. Defeated again, he didn’t lose heart.

The professor went into the courtyard, (and he was) followed by his wife.

Step 3 Explanation （要点讲解）

Sample answers: When it is seen from space, the earth looks like a big blue ball. Because he was moved by the film, he started crying. If it is heated, water changes into steam. Although he was defeated again, he didn’t lose heart.

The teacher gives the students detailed explanation about the form and functions. 根据前面的练习，老师仔细讲解过去分词做状语的用法，并和现在分词做状语对比。
